Of the 30+ articles in the African Royalty category on English Wikipedia, only three pages have the picture of their subjects.
To help address this underrepresentation, the Wikimedia Foundation, the global nonprofit that operates Wikipedia, launched a project called Wiki Unseen to address the visual and written underrepresentation of several Black historical figures on Wikipedia.
The Brand Collaborations Lead at the Wikimedia Foundation, Tas Elias, discusses this new project with Gloria and Tony.
